Bottle at a standing bar in Tokyo station. Clear golden straw color with a small white head. Slight aromas of earthy hops and a bit of fruit as it warms up. Sweet on the palate with the malts pushing to the front. Slightly bitter finish. Just OK.

330 ml bottle from Takashimaya B2 at Nagoya station. Pours golden, quite clear, with slight carbonation. Small head and even that reduces only to some lacing. In aroma, you can feel some refreshing floral hops, fruit sweetness and a bit of brown bread. Taste is quite delicate - refreshing, hops are contributing a bit to bitterness - but it’s not overwhelming but quite subtle. Some malt sweetness in the background, also in the aftertaste. Overall, a nice beer - could imagine myself having several of those while sitting outside in summer.

5% On tap at the GJBF Osaka. A clear gold, no head. Funky herbal hop aroma. The taste is an earthy bitter slightly moldy hoppiness, decent but nothing special. Some graininess to it, ok.

Bottled. Clear golden, brief head. Grassy and floral with notes of vanilla. Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. There’s doughy malt and spicy grassy hops, notes of red berries. Medium bitterness. Well balanced.

Seasonal. Draught at Wachi in Kyoto. This beer was a brilliant deep golden color, just glowing. Lovely. Very lager like, with good grain feel and a biscuit maltiness, and just a bit of sweetness and a touch of fruit. Very good hopping all the way. Medium body, fills the mouth. Dry finish. Great balance. A good, dry beer; no real surprises, but well done.

Kaori means smell. Yes, it has a hop smell. A one dimensional hop smell with little body and very little bitterness in the finish. Unremarkable.
