Staunch is our new-world pilsner inspired by the brewing traditions of Germany. Herbaceous old-world hops are blended with fruity ones from NZ, while a clean malt profile lets them shine. Staunch is a humble nod to noble heritage, but re-envisaged with the modern drinker in mind.

On tap at the Brewpub in Melbourne. A bit hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of bread, grass and some grain. The same in the taste, also some citrus. Mild and easy to drink.

Tap at the Abbotsford brewpub. Poured a hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, grainy malt. The flavour of light bitter, with a light, crisp, slightly watery, dry light fruity hop bitter palate. Medium medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Can, pkd 19/2/19. Not quite clear gold with a white head that fades. 3- Aroma of hay, herbs, light berries, a little touch of cardboard. Light bodied, getting towards watery. Hayish malt, neither sweet nor rich. Firm bitter finish is grassy and herbal. OK, not far off good. No points off for "froff". --- Beer merged from original tick of Staunch on 18 Mar 2019 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 6.
