"Göteborgssviten"

Konungen pekar tydligt ut var glaset skall stå. Denna ”Strong Bitter” med klassiska mörka karamellmaltsmakerna har både fyllighet och styrka. Gustaf har ett uppfriskande humlebett där Chinook-, Brewers Gold- och Cascadehumle bidrar med smak och inbjudande arom.

330 ml bottle from Systembolaget, shared. Dark ruby color with a big, frothy beige head.. A candy style fruitiness in the aroma, toffee malts and notes of floral hops. Taste is sweet, fruity, has bubblegum notes and is malty with lots of citrus. Oily mouthfeel. Fruity-bitter medium length finish. Good.

0.33l bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm. This is a crystal clear dark nuttybrown beer with a fading and light bubbly sidesticking beige head. The aroma is dark malty, some old cold coffee, earthy tones and hints of dark caramel. Average carbonation level in a light oily mouthfeel. Flavors are light dry and bitter. Lots of caramel in this one along with some burned undertones and hints of hops in the finish. Ends dry. Mah, not bad or anything, but not something I have to drink again.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget. Clear, amber/red liquid with medium to big, thick head. Beautiful looking beer. Aroma of herbal Chinook hops, grapefruit, caramel, toffee, biscuity malt, orange and a nice nutty touch. Taste is light sweet, quite malty and medium bitter. Feels clean. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a bit dry mouthfeel. Balanced beer. Good example of the style, very drinkable with a nice touch of American hops.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget and consumed on October 3. Pours light chestnut brown with a rather thick yellowish brown head. Smells is roasted malts with a malty sweetness and a slight hint of caramel. Taste is very malty and slightly sweet. Tastes of bread with some yeasty flavours combined with the malty sweetness. These primary tastes soon gives way for a rather dry bitterness and leaves you with a nice, slightly bitter and long lasting finish.
