The Western winds which blew the trade ships to India helped form pale ales into the IPA’s of today. But the western wind changes depending on your location. This American style Hop heavy, crafted IPA is more like the Western winds the Native Iroquis felt. They said it was fierce like the panther, and so is this beer.

Can. Hazy gold beer, good white head. Palate is airy and fairly dry, good carbonation. Sweetish dry malts, Mild sweet esters, Dry and pithy hops, dry spice. Pithy citrus and dry pine. Dry finish. It’s all a bit dry and pithy and I could so without esters in an IPA, still all said and done, went down fine.

Can at home in London. May have gotten it online. Pours mostly clear deep orange-gold with a creamy, off-white head. A little pale bread in the nose, citrus rind, minerals, pine. Light-medium sweet flavour with lightly toasted pale malts, hints of dough, melon, mild piney bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous in the finish, with more subtle toasty pale malts, bitter pine and orange rind. Enjoyable overall.

Can. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Thin, clingy, lasting white head. Nose has ripe strawberry. Sweet ginger. Fruity, floral malts. Big hoppage and sticky malts to match. Taste is sweet and chewy with an oily, herbal bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty full. Rising bitterness on the finish. Not too subtle, but super tasty. Good one.
