Pours a deep red-copper color. A special batch of Inis & Gunn beer was brewed and matured in oak for 60 days; 30 days in American oak barrels, and 30 days in navy rum barrels. It was then matured 47 more days for a full marriage of flavors.

NOTE: Rum Aged, Rum Finish & Oak Aged Rum Finish are the same beer as Rum Cask. They are an alias for different export markets with a tweaked process.

Innis & Gunn: "They are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same.

As Rum Aged, 6.8%. 330ml bottle into pint. Distant peppery smokiness and alcohol aroma. Crystal clear bronze beer with solid creamy head. Full-bodied and oily, smooth. Really really smooth. More subtle than I expected, buttery toffee with hints of rum in the finish. Ridiculously easy drinking. Wow!

(Kiev 2016) 330 ml. bottle split by 2. Clear amber with an off-white head. Nose is swet bland toffee marmalade, butter and furniture. Taste is a bland vague slaw of butter, toffee, resin, oak, uninteresting bland, sweet vague toffee & butter. Meh, didn’t get it but my nephew enjoyed it a lot.

Many thanks to Eike for sharing this bottle! Smooth malty, nice wood, intense and sweetish. Wood, hints of rum, sweetish. Very dry with woody hints of rum. Interesting with a sweetish malty body.

Bottle at home 6.8%. Clear brown with small off white head. Brown sugar, lots of rum, spices, dried apple, raisins, vanilla, icecream, dried leaves, fudge. Over medium sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with a bit slick feel and under medium carbonation. Decent beer, better than I expected.

Bottle - Malts, sweet oaky notes and lots of caramel. Clear amber with a rich beige head. Caramel sweetness, touch of wood and a malty sweetness in the finish. Nose and color are deceptively good, while the taste is a bit boring in contrast. Decent, but not worth the price.

Bottle. Reddish brown with large foamy pinkish beige head, caramel aroma, sweetish oak flavored rum taste, high carbonation, thin body, longish rum infused finish. Quite nice.
