Inspired by Strong Belgian Ales, it’s rather dark in color with ruby glares, it forms a firm frothy head and entices with its rich and complex aromas in which the warm and boozy notes are softened by the nutty ones. It’s round and sweet on the palate, with a big body, it has a long finish that leads to cocoa and roasty notes.

Murky brown colour with no head. Aroma of dark malts, dark fruit, nuts, raisins, faint spices. Flavour is moderate dark fruity malty sweetness. Decent Italian variety of the Belgian dark ale.

Tap at Gar Eden. Dark red brown colour, creamy golden head. Aroma is dark fruits, very Belgian, boozy, raisins, sherry. Taste is interesting, boozy sweetness, quite sweet raisins again, marzipan, cherry, lots in there. Decent body and smooth, good Belgian style beer.

Mahognibrun klar med lavt beige skum. Lukter sure bær, trevirke og svisker. Fyldig. Sur. Sure bær, fat, trevirke, bæreddik og rognebær. Lang sur. Dette må jo være feil type øl. Mer mot sour red/brown

Bottle from Foodshow in Shibuya on sale for ¥400. Pours a deep brown with a small half finger beige head. Caramel, prune, Christmas cake, raisin and oak on the nose with some funky-lite yeast and vinous notes. Taste is slightly sweet with a light yeasty, funk finish. Some floral notes as well. Very vinous and dry finish as it warms. Starts off with a slight cola-like carbonation and mouthfeel. --- Beer merged from original tick of DucAle on 09 Nov 2015 at 22:03 - Score: 7
