Indulgent, sweetly satisfying cider. Burnt umber in colour, dark, bittersweet, warming Libertine is a rich, tannic cider with unusual depth. Satisfying, exotic and grown up (but a bit on the fringes)....wild, radical, brooding and delicious.

On tap at Cardinal's Hat, Worcester. Cloudy orange, small white head. Apples, bit funky barnyard character, sweet with counterbalancing acidity. Medium bodied.

Draught at Craft Beer Calling 2018. Amber colour, no lasting head and tangy apple aroma.Taste is sweet musty apple, funky and tannic with vinegar hint. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tangy earthy finish. Quite drinkable

500ml bottle. Pours dark orange with medium carbonation. Aroma is woody apple, a little acetone. Taste has sweet and tart apple juice to start and a sour sharp apple finish.

On tap at Beerbohm, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp red apples, with light champagne and a hint of farmhouse character. Flavour is rather funky, with farmhouse funk, crisp red apples, light acidity and dry hay. Nicely constructed, with a dry, champagne-like funk. Very good.

Cask at the 2018 Chelmsford & Mid Essex Beer & Cider Festival. Pours murky pale brown with no head. Aroma of apple, toffee and very light spice. Moderate sweetness, medium sour. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

Box @ Stable, Birmingham. Pours a murky dishwater brown. Sour nose, taste is lightly medicinal with brooding tannins, complex stewed apple fruit, quite a hefty sour, astringent character with enough fruit to balance it out.
