From bar in a box at the Sausage and Cider Festival at The Dog & Bell, Deptford, London, 23.08.24. Cloudy straw colour. No head. Aroma and taste of astringent apple peel, cider apples, some bitterness. Tart mouthfeel. Good!

Monday 13th November 2023. Taken to the Wilkins Cider Shed by a friend. Two barrels, one sweet one dry, had them mixed to produce their 'medium', nice!

Draught at the Apple, Bristol. Hazy golden colour, no head and aroma of fruity apple, funk. Taste is tangy apple, woody, drying apple skin, leathery barnyard funk, vinefar, straw and some tannin. Medium bodied, low carbonation, very dry finish. Quite OK.

Bag Box @ Stable Bar, Birmingham. Pours hazy gold, aroma is worn bandages and apple orchard. Taste is light, watery with a breezy acidity. Some farmhouse apple creeping in but I find myself yearning for more fruit. Drying finish.

Straight from the wooden barrel, poured by Mr Roger Wilkins himself. It pours hazy greenish - gold no head whatsoever. The aroma is earthy and authentic, rather musty, brett, farmyard, dirt, rustic apple action, a touch of sweet apple, hay and wood. The taste is dry upfront, earthy, soft mellow sweetness, tannins, apple spin, apple pie, hay, wood, touch of spice and a lick of acidity. Finishes up firm, dry and moreish. Smooth, dry and exceptionally well balanced. Hides the abv very well. The depth of complexity and subtlety of this is astounding. Straight-up the best cider I have ever had.

@ Cider Barge, Bristol. Cloudy, no head. Quite earthy/farmy, lots of pedio, and it has a tart and tannic finish. Lots of complex apple character, too. Austere country cider.

Polycask at The Orchard Inn, Bristol, 27.01.12 Pours very dry, in fact when tasted alongside the Hecks KIngston Black it is mouth puckeringly dry. Tangy and dryness are the keywords here, touch hard at times, some sourness on the nose, great stuff. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4
