The name ‘Castledore’ is taken from the iron age fort Castle Dore which stands just a couple of hundred meters from the Fowey Valley home orchard.

It is a wonderfully refreshing, medium dry, lightly carbonated cider. Very clean on the palate, well balanced, and low tannin, with a beautiful straw colour.

Bottle at home from ciderlicious i think. a crystal clear golden petrol coloured pour with a fading white head. Aroma is semi sweet, candy apple, gummy sweets, plastic. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, crisp apple, candy, white sugars, crisp clean apple, candy, juicy apple, plastic. Palate is semi sweet, crisp and tart, spritzy carbonation. Pretty good.

Pale golden with a fast collapsing head of white bubbles. Nose is bitter sweet apple, grains, straw. Taste comprises tangy apple, residual sugars, light funk, grass, glazed apples. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, bittersweet drying close. Not bad.

500ml bottle from Scrattings. Pale yellow gold colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and mellow juicy apple aroma with alittle funk. Taste is sweetish fruity apple, juicy, abit sugary with some citric tartness and slight funk. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, semi-dry finish. Quite OK.
