Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. A somewhat repulsive aroma of cabbage / brussel sprouts. Watery in the mouth, but searching brings in roasted malts and liquorice with hints of dark fruits. These are more pronounced in the finish. A bit offputting really.

From wooden cask, third shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Wood Bar. Black body, filmy layer, clingy lacing. Chocolate nose, dry. Taste of confectionery chocolate followed by a smoothly roasted end. Nice, just a bit too thin on the swallow. (2nd day of the festival, 23.01.2020).
