I picked this up in Australia… in my Advent Calendar (Day 18).

Nice charcoal black color with thick tan foam and a savory chocolate aroma. Great smooth full body with a balanced chocolate malt flavor with just hints of roastiness to balance it out.
Less sweet than expected so they deftly used the lactose. Well done.
And so the last of the Aussie beers.

21/10/2022. Can from Mr Liquor, Circular Quay enjoyed at my hotel on Norfolk Island. Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is milky, malty, chocolate, coffee, lactose, liquorice, molasses, fruity notes. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, light creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation.

On taster at tap room. Pours black as night. Burnt malt nose. Great milky mouthfeel. Almost no sweetness which makes for a more intriguing milk stout. Would happily sup slowly.

500ml can. Pours black in colour with a creamy biege foam head leaving lacing and aroma of roasty malt, chocolate. Taste is sweetish, dark malty, chocolate & coffee, vanilla, dark fruit with earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

Can. Black with a good coat of tan head. Aroma of singed creamy mocha, some floral notes. As you’d expect it has decent body with low carbonation. Not very sweet at all with only a touch of burnt caramel with roasted and mocha flavours. Bitterness is quite insistent. Tasty and tasteful.
