Superficial festival rating at DØE - Ølfestival København 2017. Unclear golden body with a big, white head. Aroma has some malt, but the fruity hops is dominating, fresh citric, peach, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Flavor is sweet pale malt with lots of fresh fruit like aroma and decent bitterness. Medium body and fruity bitter finish. A nice, bitter IPA with some malt body and quite complex hop flavors.

Pours murky yellowish with lots of evident floaters. The frothy white head gently subsides amidst lacing. The aroma is way beyond pine — it’s firmly industrial by-product. I’d like to qualify this further, but I’m failing. It does quite strongly evoke memories of driving by gas chemical plants. There are some mild tropical fruit undertones, but they fail to save the day. Taste is bitter with an acrid tinge. Frankly, with that aroma it’s a leap of faith to keep going. But I do, and the awkward bitterness does grow on me. (Or is it just the alcohol dulling the senses?) Still, we are a long way away from excellence here. There is simply too little breadth, and nothing subtle. Body is medium to full, kind of mealy. Overall, far from a top 50 for me.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget Nordstan, sampled on June 17, 2017. BB Z41117, which is odd... Batch 644.Cloudy lemon peel yellow color, medium big white lasting head with lacing. Sweet, caramel, hoppy, resin, bitter, citrus taste. Alcohol, bitter, resin, hoppy aftertaste. Warming alcohol. Medium full, also fizzy, mouthfeel. High dry bitterness.Nice, but too bitter really, also do not look very appealing. Could drink again, but not a lot or very often.7/3/7/4/14=3.5
