10 years ago Peter van der Arend (Morebeer Brewing) went to the USA to discover American craft beers. There he met Greg Koch (Stone Brewing) and they have been great friends ever since. Peter came up with the idea to open an American beerbar in Amsterdam. On 09/09/2009 the BeerTemple was born and the rest is history.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 26 Feb 2020) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with orange peel, toffee, black-currant and caramel. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, treacle-toffee, orange peel, dried apriocts, raisins and a balanced spicy bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. A bit boozy, but warming and really tasty. Very nice.

Can. Hazy reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Palate is semi dry and has decent fine minerally carbonation. A reasonably toffee streaked malt bill, touch of cream and caramel. No real malt depth of maturity though. Some ripe fruits and a light touch of spice. Unwelcome if mild esters on the semi dry finish. Serviceable barleywine.
