Pours very dark brown, clear, nearly black. No head. Smell Is intense, maple and booze take the upper hand. Mild coffee and bourbon. Taste is full, very boozy ( too boozy, making it a bit like cleaning alcohol to me), yet very supported by maple basew dark chocolate, mild coffee. Hidden bourbon notes. Mouthfeel is relatively low for the abv and such, but still medium thick if you compare to beer in general. Carbonation is medium low. Alcohol sticks around, very warming back. It's fun to make extreme beers, I get that, but this would benefit from a more sane alcohol level. Now it's the beer's biggest handicap.

Borefts XI Day 1. Keg. 17.8% version. Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Incredibly light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Sweet dark malts, pastry sweetness. Mild spice. Sweet dark chocolate. Sweet dark fruits. Spicy finish. Hides the abv well. Very drinkable.
