XENON is a Smoked Porter of 7% ABV, brewed in collaboration with Brouwerij Dochter van de Korenaar of Baarle Hertog and Galway Bay Brewery from the west of Ireland.
It is part of a special six-pack of beers—the Noble Gas Project—created with twelve other breweries to celebrate the third birthday of Siphon Brewing.
Working with Siphon Brewing on the recipe and process beforehand and attending on brewday were Ronald Mengerink of Dochter van de Korenaar and Tom Delaney of Galway Bay.
XENON is a subtly smoked porter with a nutty, chocolate flavour and a full-bodied creaminess.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Rotterdam. BBE 23.04.2021 Aroma has smoke and sweet toffee. Flavour has sweet malt, licorice, hayish grain and toffee. Also some tar. Good, perhaps a bit too much on the sweet side though.

29 June 2019. At Siphon 3d Birthday Party, Damme. Cheers to Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Hazy dark brown-black with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head. Aroma of fondant, espresso, black olive, tobacco, dried fig, beef jerky, molasses. Taste is light malty sweet, restrained hints of chocolate, toast & nuts, subtle dried dark fruits underneath; roasted bitter core of coffee & fondant leaving room for a meaty-smoky umami edge (olive, tobacco). Dry, toasty, earthy hoppy finish, lingering coffee, smoke & some warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. 'Subtly smoked' indeed yet very Porter-like, I liked it.
