Can as a gift. Hazy pink/orange colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Not rateable as a beer. Sweet with notes of grapefruit and citrus. Lots of sugar and sweeteners. Only some notes from witbier. Not good at all. Even not as lemonade.

07/06/2015 @home, can I got from a colleague. I decided not to spoil a glass on this one so I drank directly from the can. Yes it’s fruity, thirstquenching but damn too hard to find the beer. STOP THIS.

Bottle @ home, bought @ Coop, Culemborg. Drank straight from the bottle. Grapefruit aroma with a touch of orange. Taste is sweet with a hint of wheat. Boring, sweet and bland. Another radler concoction which we have too many of already

I remember that when I started keeping track of the beers I tasted and wanted to taste as many different ones as possible, almost fifteen years ago, the Belgian market was flooded with artificially sweet fruit beers based on witbier - and I especially remember how much this annoyed me. Today, these fruit-witbiers have fortunately decreased, but now we are confronted with one Radler after another. I sincerely hope this marketing trend will come to a stop as soon as possible. This one has a cloudy salmon pink colour, not unlike fresh pink grapefruit juice, under a creamy, moussy, lacing, snow white head. Strongly smells of Fanta Pomelo or something alike, artificial pink grapefruit and blood orange impressions, lemonade-like ascorbic acid, faint suggestion of tomato juice, with only a very, very faint hint of grains underneath, only detectable at higher temperature (at which it is certainly not intended to be consumed). Tastes exactly like Fanta or another industrial citrus lemonade, with sharp, minerally carbonation, sugary sweetness immediately sticking to the teeth (something I utterly detest) and artificial ascorbic acidity; the sugary sweetness dominates throughout as well as the lemonade-like artificial acidity, I hardly get any malts, let alone hops; basically nothing else happens after the first impression. I find the Maes Radlers a bit better, but I don’t care for these new ’beers’ at all. On to the next.
