Styx is een Dutch Strong Ale (a.k.a. Maassluis Stadsbier). Koperblond, hoppig, doordrinkbaar, iets droog, in balans.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Rovin, Dongen. Clear amber with a big dense white head. Malty spicy aroma with some faint hops. Sweet hops. Thin but sharp body, like it has been fermented at a too high temperature. Bitter but short lived finish.

Bottle. Amber color. Dried fruit and dust in the aroma. Malty sweet, almost burned and smoked flavor with hints of dried fruit and chloride. Alcoholic. Disappointing.

Hazy gold beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, very mild creamy sweetness. Very light touch of bitterish wood. Mild marmalade and red berries. Light dry finish. Bitterish linger. Inoffensive.

Bottle picked up from Arnoldus Bieren, Gouda and consumed outside Frank at De Drie Morgen campsite, Nr Zoetermeer, Netherlands Saturday 1st October 2016 Pours murky amber, to be fair this was looking very clear until my last few seconds of carelessness let out some (a lot) of yeasty sediment. A bit chewy with lots of caramel and biscuit (speculoos) I’m getting a spicy biscuity edge. Good beer, thoroughly enjoyed this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.7
