Our porter is rich and robust, dark brown in colour with a dark roasted coffee nose, imparting an intense coffee flavour with notes of chocolate. Made with beans supplied by the Distillery District’s Balzac’s Coffee, this porter offers a rich, full and unique flavour. Currently, there are no other coffee-flavoured beers in the Ontario market.

(bottle) black colour with tall tan head; aroma of coffee with hint of smokiness; taste of coffee with light bitter finish; overall not impressive, very simple and one dimensional rerated 01/2011 (bottle) very dark colour with medium tan head, weak aroma of coffee with a hint of roast and bread; faint flavour of coffee, watery palate, not offensive just watered down and mediocre - tastes like water used to rinse a bottle of good porter - I guess a good beer for people who think they like beer but really don’t

Deep brown coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of strong almonds, nuts, malt, chocolate and a touch of toffee. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty and coffee flavour with some nuts, caramel and even a light spice in the taste. Aftertaste shows mostly bitter coffee, a touch of nuts and a good amount of sugars. Overall, a decent beer - a bit too thin, and too weak on the flavours - but not horrible at all, and definitely worth trying if you go up to the GTA. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from the LCBO in Downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 08-April-2009, sampled at home in Washington on 21-December-2009.

Bottle, 5.5%. Roasted and bitter coffee aroma. Very dark brown colour with a red shine. Small brown head. The flavour has some coffee and a hint of sour cardboard. Late bitterness, like coffee and chocolate.

Thanks Mabel for sharing! Poured an inky dark black, near opaque with a nicely thick nearly brown head. Aroma was rich with a chocolatey sweet coffee. Hint of roast in the background. This is one of the better smelling coffee beers I’ve tried. Medium chocolate and roast flavors, medium to light body, with a distinct coffee flavor that leads into a cold coffee bitterness in the finish. Like many coffee beers, it lacks a certain depth and fullness. Medium to semi-dry finish.

Bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007
Black color. Aroma of coffee grounds. Quite watery mouthfeel, with some coffee and black malt, not as dry as European Ales, but poor for me.
