Named after the elusive Black Rabbit who roamed freely on the grounds at the Edgefield Manor, this ale has been an Edgefield staple for years.

Draught at the Six Arms, Seattle Very deep dark brown; yellowish-brown rim. Ink, mushrooms, sweet malts, meaty, soy sauce, how’s that for aroma’s? Sweet malts with a typical roasted tinge, a tad roasted peanuts-like or roasted crisps. Light to medium body. Finish is somewhat bitter. OK porter: light, but that’s the idea.

Draught at White Eagle, Portland. Near black. Coffee aroma. Sweet with mellow mouthfeel. Lots of coffee, but otherwise not much going on. Fairly low bitterness.

One of my favourite porters back in the early days. It's been far too long since my last one.
