Draft at Churchkey. Poured a dark color with a very small off-white head. Low carbonation. Aroma was roasted malts, notes of fruits, sweetness. Flavor was sweet, notes of fruits, caramel malts, pretty smooth. This one aged quite well.

12 oz. bottle, as part of the Jewbelation 8-pack, pours dark, dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, molasses and caramel - slightly stronger than the 8th Ann. Flavour of bitter, dry dark fruits and cardboard, or something similarly stale. Metallic, off-putting sour finish. Something seems off about this, or this could be what was intended. Not so good.

12 ounce bottle from the sampler. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin brown creamy head. Decent head retention and lacing. The aroma is fairly faint with notes of chocolate, toffee and leafy citrus hops. The taste is chocolate, toffee, nutty notes, berries, candied citrus and leafy hops. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

2010 bottle (re visit). Pours with a black body and a large, off-white head. Aromas of rye, bread, raisins, brown sugar, oatmeal, dark fruits, estery, molasses. Flavors of oatmeal, raisins, molasses, pencil, dark fruits, dates, and tobacco. Very lively bubbles. Tons of cereal character. Okay, but not my favorite.

From can, no 21 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours dark brown and slight reddish hue and a light chocolate brown head. Dried fruity aroma, slight chalky and with a smooth chocolate note. Solid chocolate flavoured and roasted malty. Sweet finish lingering into the finish with a chocolate malt flavoured smoothness.

Bottled. An amber-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, metal, prunes, hard roasted malt, and oxidation, leading to a metallic finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a light brown head. Somewhat vinous, port-like nose with a touch of wood. Full body with roasted malts and again some woody accents. Notes of dried fruit and a slightly raw bitterness in the finish. But overall quite interesting. 301107

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown with light ruby highlights and a medium sized red-brown head. The aroma was sweet ripe fruits - mostly cherry and apple - with strong notes of molasses. The flavor was full of fruity hops, molasses and dry chocolate in the finish. The beer was marvelously thick and full bodied and hid the alcohol very well. Marvelous!

Medium light brown head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Sweet firm deep roasty caramel aroma with bubblegum and raisin notes. Deep, intense burnt caramel, chocolate, and raisin taste. Notes of alcohol and medicine. Dry, medicinal afterstate. Excellent. (0.65l bottle.)
