From old tasting notes. Cloudy, yellow gold color. Lots of tiny bubbles leading to a creamy white head. Fragrant bouquet has hints of butterscotch, figs, mandarin orange and anise. Rich sweet malty flavor that becomes bittersweet and long lasting. Full bodied and strong. It has an underlying yeastiness as well. Very good.

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of old sherry, honey, some oxidation. Light sweet flavour, dessert wine, bit sawdust and children’s glue (pritt). Finish glue, white wine and spices. 25 years old. Held up quite nicely.

Pretty aged bottle Clear pale amber; small but firm off-white head. Nutty nose, sweet, raisins, peaches and a little dash of portwine, very inviting. Nutty taste, biscuit and caramel, sultana’s; ends on a fruity note as of (old) citrus peel & sucade . In the MF, the oxidation has taken the most of the toll: thin, but alcoholic. Carbonation, however, is still 5/5. Very nicely aged, fruity, unfortunately a bit thinnish.

(Bottle 33 cl) It’s really hard to get to this beer. The huge, rocky head completely covers the fluid requiring a lot of the patience of the drinker. But this Triple appears nicely golden - when you finally get to see it. Very neutral nose and a prickly sensation in the mouth from lots of carbonation - too much. Slightly spicy and a touch of iron in the palate. Not the most thrilling Triple. 180294
