Bottle: Almost black coloured, small. but firm creamy tanned head, complex nose: black-currant, toasted malt with a tinge of ashes and a touch of barrique-aged wine; moderate sweet-bitter flavour with a light sourness, soft MF, medium bodied; slightly sourish, mainly bitter-fruity and roast-malty finish. Fine stout..........

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as "Pitfield 1860 XX Stout". Pours a dark brown with an orangey hue and a beige head. Vinous, lightly tart nose with some rasiny accents. Flavours are of burned malt with an ashy edge. Has a surprising underlying sweetness with some acidity and light notes of dried fruits. Very discreet bitterness. 160206

A very deep red beer with a fast disappearing off-white head. The aroma is primarily of chocolate combined with light notes of alcohol and sulphur. The flavor is sweet alcoholic combined with notes of sulphur and chocolate. It lacks some power, for being a stout, for being in the Pitfield anniversary series, and for being 6% ABV.

Bottle. Black beer with a light, brown head. The aroma is roasted coffee beans with a milk chocolate finish, the flavour is smooth, milk and chocolatey. Overall a nice neer.

Dirty greige, fluffy head; very carbonated deep-dark opaque brown beer. Liquorice, mint, chocolate and fumed malts in the nose. Dark grains & malts, liquorice, quite sweet taste. Bit dull, really. Thinnish texture with slight grainy filling, kind of sticky. Nothing very heartlifting, even big brewers make this kind of thing daily. And it does not even benefit from room temperature.

Bottled. Ruby/black. Vinous fruity nose with dark chocolate. Soft and clean. Dry and malty with some dried plums. Tasty.
