Ty Grumbo. Pours amber. Sweet and caramel forward, with nice black tea bitterness and hint of metallic and milky notes. Ok. 3.4

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Pours a clear copper colour with a thin off-white head. Very low carbonation. Aromas of caramel, biscuits, spice, bread and floral hops. Taste is very similar with the same notes and some added citrus earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with a slick smooth mouthfeel and a long earthy hop finish. Nothing spectacular but a solid old fashioned English bitter.

Cask at local Spoons: Poured a golden ro amber with thin off white head. Aroma was nice light malts. Taste was nice bitter with a malty backbone.

Bottle from Mark. Medium, clear amber, small foamy head subsides. Caramel malts in the aroma and taste, light bitterness trails. This is the M&S version, labelled as Norfolk Bitter.

Pint at Carnival Inn, Bridgwater (JDW). Pours clear amber small white head. Aroma: biscuit malts, earthy hops. Taste: light to moderate bitter, light fruity citrus. Low to moderate carbonation, smooth texture, light body, semi dry, bitter finish.

500ml bottle [from a trade with Grumbo, thanks a lot for the ship-themed label!]. Wonderful clear, reddish, dark amber colour with average, thick, fluffy, moderately lasting minimally lacing, off-white head. Floral hoppy and mellow malty aroma, somehow inseparable honey-pollen-orange-butter-cake-christmas stollen (fruit loaf) flavours. Taste is slightly dry, floral and slightly fruity hoppy, hints of raisin and orange zest with a minimally soapy touch, candied orange zest, malty basis with minimal residual sweetness, hints of panettone, stollen or the like (I never had Dundee cake.as possibility of comparison). Paradigmatic for the possible richness of a Bitter.

2016 catch up - Bottle at home after it was doscovered going cheap at M&S. A reasonable bitter. Nothing spectacular, but a very good pint for £1.25.

Clear deep golden color with a fine off white head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation level. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Caramel malty, herbal and mild fruity flavor. Decent session able bitter.
