Revenge is best served bittersweet. Our wholehearted harmony of hops, fruits and barley pays homage to brave Admiral Nelson and his crew. Nelson’s is a Norfolk beer, and glory in the taste and aromas of citrus and Norfolk malts we’ve crammed in.

50cl Bottle from M&S, as Norfolk Bitter. Clear copper colour, white head. Aroma of grain, toast, stale hops, caramel, peach, some citrus. Flavour is dry, grain and toast, hint of metal, caramel, hint of lemon, bitter light-hoppy finish. Light-bodied. Not great.

Train rate. Bottle from marks and Spencer. Aroma is caramel, apple, sea weed. Flavour is salty, caramel, apple, nutty malt. Some fishy and metalic notes. Palate has a carbonation bite and pretty thin. Pretty shit.

Bottle from Marks & Spencer called Norfolk Bitter to be specific! Copper-amber in colour and no head. It’ has a good pale ale nose with a fruitiness, although much less stated in taste. Has a decent medium to full body.

Bottle from the M&S at Waterloo station near platforms 16-19 to be fucking specific, drank on the train home from a paper cup and labelled as M&S Norfolk Bitter as you’d expect, cheers to JF 12/11/13. Chestnur brown with a moderate beige head. Nose is toffee, dark fruit, cake mix, prunes, brown sugar. Taste comprises dark malt, sweet brown bread dough, dates, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finale with sweet and bitter tones. Decent enough bitter.

29 Jan 2013: along side in Huatulco, Mexico. The sea and Modelo beers on the beach had kept me cool during the day, now back on board I needed something different. The 500ml bottle conditioned brewhad been with me since Southampton and had patiently waited in my fridge until thisday. Poured slowly into two tumblers it showed a good looking amber body with a full white head. Fruity, hoppy and with a mild citrus hint throughout the tasing. Really enjoyed it’s flavours and although not as malty as I normally prefer, this was a good blend and well made. The body depth suited it too.

Bottle as M&S Norfolk Bitter. Pours dark copper with a creamy off-white head. NIce bitter and malty aroma.Seems floral bitter. Med body. Flavor is roast malt with a good dose of hop - which still seems floral. Finish is clearly bitter. It’s a tasty ale.
