Revenge is best served bittersweet. Our wholehearted harmony of hops, fruits and barley pays homage to brave Admiral Nelson and his crew. Nelson’s is a Norfolk beer, and glory in the taste and aromas of citrus and Norfolk malts we’ve crammed in.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol 30/3/08. Deep amber coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of red fruit and grassy hops. Malty flavour with some citrus fruit and a touch of caramel. Good.

500ml bottle of M&S Norfolk Bitter. Gold with a thin white head, slightly hazy; citrus aroma with disturbing farmyard hints; soft and full-bodied with a smooth syrupy mouthfeel; rounded bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Hazy gold with a creamy white head; pear and apple flavours; dry finish. Not very inspiring.

Half pint on cask. Dark golden body with only a small layer of foam. Some promising floral hoppy aroma, but rather light fruity in flavour. Bitterness towards the end. A bit oily and watered impression (Rosary Tavern, Norwich 25.09.2006).

Cask at Bohemian, Deal. Hop nose is reminiscent of Wherry but this has more body from the extra alcohol. Overall a really good beer, that I would have been happy to drink all afternoon.

Bottle conditioned, 500 ml. Bought at Memorable Cheeses, Ipswich. No head, very little carbonation. Deep amber colour, hazy (I poured the yeast in). Aroma is hoppy, oaky, slightly spicy. Well balanced flavour, just the right blend of fruitiness, hoppiness and maltiness. Nice hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste. A good beer!

The aroma is very fresh hoppy on a malty and yeasty background. The color is a clear orange and it has a beutiful lasting white head. The flavor is also very fresh with on a sweet background it contains strong notes of hops, both aroma and bitter, fruit (oranges), oil, and grass. Before it ends on a great bitterness that leaves a hoppy dryness on the tongue. A great bitter - and mine was even bottle conditioned.

Sampled cask conditioned at Akkurat. Stockholm, Sweden.
Amber coloured with flowery aroma. Light bodied, and rather sweet and a tad buttery. Mild with well rounded mouthfeel and low bitterness. Not bad, but doesn't live up to my high expectations of Woodforde's ales.
