Bottle @ Tores garage. Almost clear amber body under a thin tan head. Strong aroma of dry fruit with caramel and warming alcohol. Taste is sweet and malty with caramel and lots of dry fruit, pleasant warming alcohol and some bitterness. Amazing after 22 years with so little impact of oxidation.

Bottle. 2002 vintage. An unclear brown beer with a small off-white head. Caramel, roasted malts, some chocolate and alcohol in the aroma. It's full bodied and lightly warming, sweet, with a decent carbonation. Chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee and alcohol. Lasting finish. Delicious even though it's 22 years old..240906

PB brought this in to celebrate his birthday. Aromas are malt, fruit and spice with a bit of yeast. Flavors are like nose, I pick up some coffee and a bit of cocoa. Slightly soft carbonation. And smooth. Great aged barley wine!

Filthy brown with no head. The aroma is malty, fruity, some fudge, light signs of oxidization. The body is thinning, some malt flavor, rather strong oxidization, but not extreme; some tobacco, some cardboard.
Old but still almost enjoyable.

2002 vintage. 12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark brownish orange with a tiny beige head. Nose is full of cardboard - oh man, is that oxidized - along with subdued caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is less pronouncedly oxidized, with lots of caramel, dark fruits, some brown sugar and a bit of astringency. It's oxidized, but not too detractingly so, especially for a 16-year old beer. Pleasure to drink after all this time, despite the obvious flaws.

2002 bottle. Very cool to try this. Pours a cloudy orange color with a nice robust medium white head. A big oxidized fruity malt nose. Sweet, sugary fruity malt base, some oxidized almost paper like notes, apricot and softer fruit. Light honey. Very smooth. Awesome beer. Now, it really drinks like a British BW.
