The quality of the cold brewed coffee that goes into Texas Exile is important to us. That’s why we hooked up with MA coffee roaster Barismo. These guys are as serious about coffee as we are about beer. About 33 gallons of cold brewed coffee goes into each batch of Texas Exile right before fermentation, adding the perfect compliment to the brown sugar and oatmeal flavors of this huge imperial porter. Breakfast just got a punch in the neck.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a rather large brown foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with some floral undertones and some light dry roasted malt notes are also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by some floral dry coffee notes with some dry roasted bitter malt notes. Body is quite full with nice creamy texture with some good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice use of floral coffee notes with solid porter base.
