Bottle. Clear dark golden body with a nice, dense tan head. Aroma has a rather mild and gentle touch of smoke with oak, vanilla and light caramel malt. Flavor is the same subtle, delicate kind of smoke, wood, vanilla, smooth sweet malt with a moderate bitter finish. Fine balanced body and aftertaste in the same direction. I think this is the kind of beer that suits people that prefer their smoked beer with less smoke than the typical Bamberg experience. At least for the beer I the lighter and paler part of the malt scale. At least this suits me fine as long as this is a non heavy stout. It's actually highly enjoable and easy drinkable IMO.

Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is strong wood with malt, oak chips, a touch of vanilla and light caramel. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. I don't get much smoke, this is all about the wood. Decent.

16/4/2022. Bottle shared with the ITFC boys at the Rotherham beer share. Courtesy of Boris, cheers! Pours clear amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of golden syrup, malt, light smoke, wax, leaf, plasticine, butter. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, oily, soft carbonation. Bit odd but quite liked it.

Bottle. Just slightly cloudy dark orange feat. a lovely white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus fruits, yeast, caramel with some malts and wood. Taste follows aroma plus honey. Fruity and a little bit acidic. Dry bitter finish. Strong carbonation. Quite some booziness there as well. Let’s just say it’s not that balanced. This is not a love song and not what I expected.

Bottle from Erzengel, thanks. Malty aroma and taste, caramel, smoked notes, some nutty notes, light sour notes, light to medium bitter. Medium body, malty smoked light sour and bitter finish. Ok.

Bottle at a tasting. Thin body, moderate carbonation. Quite restrained smokiness, really only a subtle note here. Light fruitiness present too, slightly nutty and caramelly maltiness. Rather sweet than bitter. Drinkable, rather clean. Good but not great. I wish for more smokiness.
