Draft at Beer Temple. Pours near black with a small brown head. Aroma of big roast, plastic, jam. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter. Caramel in chocolate and good stuff in the palate, along with a strange fishiness which thankfully disappears into a lovely fudge finish. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Keg at the Cask, Pimlico, 26/02/14. Black with a well appointed dirty tan head, this beer looks the bollocks! Nose is big roast, rich chocolate, light spice, rye bread, molasses, dark toffee. Taste comprises chocolate maltesers, big hoppy backbite, light coffee, hint of booze, mineral bite, molasses, tar. Medium bodied +, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Solid drinkable Imperial affair!
