3/11/2022. Can from Beer Cartel enjoyed at the Rydges. ACT rating #10. Pours slightly hazy dark orange amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, sweet, malty, citrus, orange, stone fruits, caramel, leaves, light piney spicy edge. Super bittersweet mix. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very drinkable.

From can. Pours glorious deep amber. Huge pine nose. And keeps that up in glass. More pine than an IKEA superstore. With a big malt backbone to match. Simply superb work.

brilliant glowing amber color. Big crystal malt, tropical fruity, slightly sweet. Malt forward with good, apricot, bready malty backbone. Slightly sweet. Medium full body. Not overly bitter

From a 375ml can on 25/9/2018. Pours a cloudy deep golden with a big head which disappears relatively quickly. Has a big, slightly dank, citrus and tropical fruit aroma. Taste wise, you get a big caramel and biscuit malt, oodles of orange, apricot and mango, followed by some pretty firm, resiny, lingering hops. The palate is long, the texture quite slick and a bit sticky, with the carbonation moderate. Balance and flavour are there in spades. Super smooth and just so smashable for a big beer. Every bit as good out of the can as it is on tap. The best Canberra-brewed beer to ever hit the shelves, and one of the best Aussie IIPAs out there. Fucking marvelous stuff.

Tap. Amber with a white head. A: sticky bread crust, citrus, pine resin. Medium to full bodied. Not what I expected - it’s big and hoppy but rather refined with smooth and sweet malt and citrus and pine flavours that ooze through towards the refined bitter finish. Wholesome and coherent for a big IPA. Good.

On tap at BentSpoke, pours a hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops upfront, a little pine and caramel biscuity malt. Flavour is rich and chewy, with lots of resinous hops and sweet caramel malt. On the sweet side for a IIPA, but it's not cloying. Excellent.

On tap at the brewpub. Amber. Hoppy grassy aroma. Intense sweetness, almost drenching the bitterness. Well balanced at that. My kind of beer.

(On tap at brewery) Hazy ruddy amber with decent off white head. Sweet toffee and citrusy hops aroma. Medium body with velvety carbonation. Flavour is rich sweet start with toffee and cough medicine and candy and then some pleasant crisp hop bitterness cuts in. Overall very nice but I was surprised at the balance. I expected more hops and perhaps less sweetness. Not complaining - would have another right now!
