Bottle from Waitrose, High Wycombe. Dark brown/black with a thin beige head. Really smooth, rich and indulgent. Chocolate, blackberries, a whisper of red wine and a waft of smoke. Well balanced between the sweetness, smoothness and mild bitterness. Was absolutely loving it, but the little bit of burnt malt at the end was just a tad too burnt for my liking and took the score down a couple of notches. Still a gorgeous beer though, lovely stuff.

330ml bottle. Pours near black, small beige head, nice retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, liquorice. Taste is semi-sweet, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, blackberries, resin, bitter finish which is dry and slightly smoky. A lovely complexity to this. Its backed up by a smooth moderate body and a soft carbonation. Top notch stuff.

Bottle. Almost black. Malt, a hint of roast and berries in the aroma. Malty raisinny, soft roasty flavor with a hint of red berries. Sweetish, characterful stout with soft tart notes.

Bottle, many thanks chriso! Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is earthy, chocolate, light prune, classic English motor oil Stout feeling. Taste is prune, chocolate, liquorice, motor oil. Oily mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Very good!
