Taster pour at bottle share -- thanks Stacey. (2016 vintage) Appearance is dark, dark brown with no sparkle, thin cap of beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is mildly boozy but can't specifically identify as rum; mild chocolate and ginger bread. Taste is nice chocolate and rum. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, velvety texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, my favorite of the GBS group. The gingerbread gets overpowered but the blend of the base stout and barreling works best here for me.

2016 vintage. Did the full vertical side- by- side. Aroma shows light rum, chocolate, gingerbread. Flavor is a reflection of the aroma. Spice is low. Maybe a tad more sweet then the regular bourbon barrel.

2016 and 2017 bottles shared at Lucky Bamboo GBS share. Thanks Matthew and Andrew! Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of foam that lingers. Nice coconut rum aromas on the nose with gingerbread cookie and chocolate. 2016 the barrel is well-integrated and balanced. Good complex coconut, nutmeg and ginger flavors throughout. The 2017 seemed to be more or less a splash of rum in a beer. Preferred the 2016 by a lot. Rating is for the 2016 bottle. --- Beer merged from original tick of Rum GBS (Gingerbread Stout) on 24 Mar 2018 at 19:22 - Score: 8

Bottle thanks to Andrew. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is cinnamon, graham cracker, cocoa, licorice, bourbon, wood. Slick body, milk chocolate, coconut, rum, nice sweetness, very good.

Draft at Churchkey. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a small wispy head. Aroma was spices, roasted and sweet malt characters. Gingerbread is still pretty strong in this one, for being a keg from at least 6 months back. Woody notes, boozy rum notes. Rum cake notes, gingerbread. Enjoyable, but in small doses I think.
