Can, consumed on a Swiss Air flight from Zurich to SFO. Pours clear pale golden, medium white head, nice lacing. Aroma is grass and grain, hints of bread. Flavor follows, light sweet and light bitter. Light body. Hard to bother with details of pale lagers; it would be easier to rate by deviations from the norm. As PL’s go, this was a tad breadier; otherwise could pass for the poster-child of the style.

50cl can from Coop, St. Gallen. The beer starts fresh and grainy. Not too intense but fresh with a nice bitterness in the end. Smooth with a soft and mild body. The aftertaste is round and fresh, hints of grain, moderate bitterness, nice.

50cl can. Usually called the best Swiss industrial lager, and actually living up to its reputation if you ask me. Still not a beer worth trying by any means.

Pale golden colour, moderate sized head; aroma and taste of a grainy lager with some minimal herbal and grassy notes; nothing notable, but drinkable

Golden color with white head. Aroma of hardly anything, hints of grain and hops. Taste is grainy, bready. Drinkable, okay-balanced.

Can. Pale yellow with small foamy white head, faint floral hops aroma, low carbonation, flat sweetish taste, abrupt finish. Slightly more aromatic than spring water.

2014-04-19 - 33 cl can, 4.8% in a swiss air flight. Odd vintage design. Expecting this to be a bad soup but surprise surprise, it’s unexpectedly good. Classic yellow color, lagery nose. But incredibly malty with fresh hops, a bit salty reminds me of german Helles such as Paulaner. Well, very neat and I appreciated a second one. The can advertises purest water and finest ingredients, and i’d say it’s true (and how to doubt about Swiss people?) and a second one was appreciated.

From an amigo: Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is really grainy. Taste is also grainy and dirty. Pale lager dirt through and through.
