An accessible but full-flavoured golden ale with a hoppy aroma. Its refreshing flavour and crisp bitter aftertaste soon invite for more. Strandgaper is a friendly beer with a strong personality.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy golden, unstable, frothy, white head. Aroma of apple slices, banana bread, overripe mandarin, apricot, yeast. Taste has sweet ripe apple, banana & apricot over a bready-honey malty base, bit phenolic & yeasty. Floral hoppy, yeasty finish, lingering spices, ripe fruit & a faint alcohol glow. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Certainly better than I remember, still nothing special. Original rating: 15/5/2016. 5/3/3/2/8=2.1.

Licht troebel donkergeel bier met veel schuim. Smaak is fris bitter hoppig en ietwat kruidig, ananas en koriander. Erg goed.

Fles thuis. Heerlijke balans van bitter/ziltige en zoete smaken. Mijn oude favoriet bij De Paas. Backlog from 2015/04/21.

Pours a hazy and bit darker golden color, topped with lots of dirty white head. Aroma of some spices, a bit earthy with some yeasty notes. Taste starts with a bit yeasty/earthy feel, followed by very strong spices and moderate bitterness. Not a bad one, but a bit topo spicy.

(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 24 Oct 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, tropical fruit and peaches. Malty, fruity taste with bread, tropical fruit, grass, a touch of candy sugar and a balanced spicy bitterness. Medium body, fairly sweet. Just what was expected from a Belgian blonde ale. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

33cl bottle. Pours almost clear golden with a white head. Fruity aroma with notes of Belgian yeast and pale malt. Medium sweet with nice fruity flavours and a light bitterness. Quite nice!

Flaska från beernavigator. Skummar otroligt mycket och tar 5 minuter att hälla upp, resultaten en lite smutgul disig vätska men en hög smutsvit skum krona. Doft av jäst, honung, äppelkompott, kryddor. Småbubblig i munnen. Söta smaker men frisk, relativt torr och med en liten men fin beska. Jästdominerd smak som är jordig och mustig men också frisk och fruktig. Bra balans och fina smaker. Riktigt trevlig.

Blonde session ale already in existence when Scheldebrouwerij was still settled in the Netherlands, apparently intended to accompany mollusc dishes. Thick head over an orange blonde beer, fruity with spicy notes, bitterish finish, dry. Appetizing indeed, but they have done better things than this.
