Bottle shared thanks to deanso’ cellar. 2010 bottle. Slight hazy Amber with bubbly off white head. Cardboard, green leaves, lots of alcohol, light fresh cut wood, caramel, grapes, sherry, old strawberries. Medium sweet with bitter alcoholic finish. Medium bodied. Meh.

Bottle shared. Dark ruby-brown with a thin tan head. Dark fruit, grapes, fruit, dried fruit, alcohol, cherries. Medium body, low carbonation and a fruity light sour and bitter aftertaste.

English-style barley wine with English yeast and English hops. Thin, off-white head, cloudy bronze colour. Aroma of dried fruits, caramel, port wine, cloves, cognac, spicy hops. Taste again dried fruits, spicy, smooth, sweetish caramel malts, citrus accent, finishing in warming brandy-like alcohol. This is my kind of beer, though I did have more complex barley wines.

Bottle pour. A lot of bread and caramel flavor. Aroma is a fruit, and a little boozy. This beer is very mild for a 10%. I was very surprised. Finishes a little boozy, but it’s not intense by any means. A little malty finish as well. Not too bad.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a hazy medium to dark amber with a thin off white head. The aroma is weak malt with some boozy alcohol. The flavour is strong bitter with a liqouce alcohol palate. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel and a long bitter finish.

Ruby/orange/amber with spare head. Aroma of dark alcohol, malt, caramel and peat. Taste is smoother, and swwet , caramel, toffee, whiskey barrel. Slightly sour palate with alcohol warmth kicking in late. Nice fall beer.
