The connection between the Lambic world and our rural culture. “A simple grape juice, pressed and destemmed, so much…as much as is needed, used not as a simple flavouring but intended to start the fermentation of this beer in the wooden vat, without added yeast. The recipe results balanced and perfected over the years. Mine is not a trend but a precise intention” – Valter Loverier

Pours a dark/deep red, hazy borderlining murky. No head whatsoever even with hard pouring. Not very attractive. Average intensity in the aroma: fresh fruitiness with notes of currant and cherries (black cherry especially), grape skin, hints of wood/oakiness and very light funkiness. Clean and quite simple, suggesting a mildly sour beer. Taste notes follow the aroma quite closely, with a semi sweet, lightly sour mouth and a bit of lingering sourness in a semi dry finish and aftertaste. Sourness is half lactic and half citric and mild in both departments, the beer feels mostly refreshing with quite vivid fruity notes. Medium bodied with pretty light and delicate but lively enough carbonation, goes down surpisingly easy for the abv. Overall a quite easy and nicely enjoyable take on the grape ale style, i was perhaps expecting a bit more depth in both flavour and body.

Vintage 2015. Numbered half champagne bottle: 13-0516.

Bottled 375ml. -at Goblet Zagreb. Unclear dark red coloured, minimal white head that went away fast, light sour fruity nose. Sour fruity and bretty with notes of grapes and rather tart finish. Quite nice.
