BXLBeerfest. Pours red. Aroma is sour, dry, black currant. Flavor is sweet, sour, fruity, dry, black currant. Finish is really dry. Body is on the thin side. Overall: great, love the dryness of black currant, my favorite from the experimentals in BXLBeerfest.

One of no less than six (?) experimental draught fruit lambics Tilquin made for BXL Beerfest - and sadly the only one available at the time I passed their booth. Loose, ’dirty’ off-pinkish to almost fuchsia-tinged, bubbly head, hazy dark purplish fuchsia colour, darker and more purple than a kriek, for example. Aroma of ripe and fermenting blackcurrants, stale sweat, lots of sour artisanal yoghurt, gooseberries, rhubarb, spoiled milk, tomato peel, wet hay, old apples. Crisp, very dry onset, a big wave of blackcurrant tartness with just faint hints of that typical spicy-sweetish cassis flavour, wild lambic esteriness, lemony and lactic sourness throughout the whole palate, sourdough-ish underground, dry and very quenching, funky ending, wet wood and blackcurrant skin and seeds providing wry tannic flavours that linger at the back of the mouth. Lovely, too bad I didn’t make it to the other experiments in this series but let’s hope we will see a lot more coming out of this - I’d love to see this from a corked bottle after more prolonged conditioning.

Sampled at BXL. Hazy ruby pour with a pink head. Notes of blueberries, lambic funk, tart fruit, sour cherries. Tart, medium bodied, a bit acidic, overall quitenice.
