In de neus valt een lichtzoete toets op - de alcohol (8 vol.% Alc) is daar niet vreemd aan - maar toch komt dit sterk bier fris over. De smaak is volmondig en prikkelend op de tong. Lichtjes zoet (maar niet plakkerig), een vleugje rijp fruit, maar vooral koffiebitter bepalen het karakter van dit bier. Ook de lange afdronk wordt door deze bitterheid overheerst.

Pours reddish brown from the bottle and leaves a creamy finger-thick head. Aroma is caramel, lightly yeasty, alcohol. Taste is bittersweet, yet metallic, with hints of banana, spice, and chocolate. Leaves behind an overall rough, unclean impression with a clear delineation between the alcohol and other flavors rather than a harmonious blend. Yeast, alcohol and aluminum in the finish. Body is medium and the carbonation is adequate. Quite drinkable, but also quite disappointing.

Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours cloudy brown with some fine foam. Quite acidic for a bruin, but maybe that’s because the bottle is a bit over date. No other signs of oxidation though. Good harmony of malt body and carbonation, matching bitterness. Palate is rather sweet. Decent and nice, but nothing extraordinary either.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, chestnut colour with dark ruby glimmer and average to huge, fluffy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Slightly cautious, fruity aroma has notes of cherry, black cherry, red and blue berries, later with additionaly with a toch of plum and raisin, no hints of sweetness. Taste is initially tartish, dry fruity, notes of cherry, black cherry, red and blue berries, black currant tartness, later, however, more and more sweet, notes of plum, hints of raisin, slightly spicy and minimally dusty yeasty overtones. Slightly thin, not overly complex, but very much pleasing.

Onhan tämä vaan kaunis olut. Kaatuu omaan nimikkolasiinsa kuplien ja vaahdoten runsaasti alusta alkaen. Kun olut on kokonaan lasissa, on näkymä silmiä hivelevä. Syvän tummanruskeaa olutta paksulla kermaisen kuohkealla kahden sentin vaaleanbeigellä vaahtokerroksella, joka ylettyy juuri lasin yläreunan tasolle. Vaahto on vieläpä todella pitkäkestoista ja runsaasti pitsiä jättävää. Tuoksussa kypsää hedelmäisyyttä ja hiivaa sekä vahvasti yrttistä mausteisuutta. Olutta suuhun kaataessa ensimmäisenä hiipii mieleen samettinen pehmeys. Muutoin maku on hedelmäinen, makean maltainen ja yrttisen mausteinen. Jälkimaultaan vahvan mausteinen olut; mausteisuus tuntuu suussa pitkään. Suutuntuma keskitäyteläinen. Satumaisen kaunis ja samettisen pehmeä laatutuote Belgiasta.

Nagy, tartós, bézs hab. Homályos, barna szín. Fűszeres, komlós illat. Ahogy melegszik, enyhe karamell aroma társul a többihez. Enyhe karamell, és pörkölt ízvilág, picike savanykás-édes, gyümölcsös aromával. Kicsit sok a szénsav, kifejezetten pezsgős érzetű. Az alkoholt sem sikerült elrejteni, inkább konyakos, mint sörös jellegű. Utóíze nem túl tartós, édes-savanykás, az alkohol fátylába burkolva.

33cl bottle. Dark copper-brown with a tall tan head with very good retention. Smells like Belgian yeast, copper, dried fruit. The taste follows the same notes, bitter-sweet with a strong metallic feeling in the foreground. Medium bodied, medium carbonation and a bitter-sweet and very metallic aftertaste.
