Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout
The coffee lover’s consummate beer. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and imported chocolates, and two types of coffee, this stout has an intense fresh-roasted java nose topped with a frothy, cinnamon-colored head that goes forever.

A good option for the breakfast at monday with your children, why not? A solid and deep stout, this one is dry and mineral, roasted malt with a powerful note of coffee at the mouth like in Italy, after a little touch of vanilla and sweetnest, lovely, 21.06.21

Pours practically black with a medium sized off-white/greyish head that shows very good retention for the style (though 8.3% of course doesn't get too much in the way of getting a good head) and some lacing too. Fairly potent, bright feeling and relatively simple aroma: fresh coffee notes have a slight edge over soft dark chocolate, but basically both are quite strong and feel very natural and well integrated. A bit of soft, oatmeal stout-like feel on the back of things. There's still very good intensity, and more complexity, in taste. Coffee and chocolate (as per aroma) still get the main roles, but there's a good dose of typical oatmeal stout sweetness on the back of things, plus some caramel and a hint of vanilla to round things up. It's a very pleasant malty base that gives a soft feel to the aforementioned notes of coffee and chocolate. A pleasant hint of warmth also shows up, despite the not super high abv. Sweetness and bitterness are both quite bold, but very well integrated and the overall balance is excellent. Long, pleasant coffee aftertaste. Dense bodied (not super dense for the style) with average, quite delicate/light bubbled carbonation; feels soft and very creamy. This is a plainly excellent imperial stout.

Dense, cinnamon coloured head on a brown/black body. Nose leads with big, fresh roasted coffee. The taste keeps the coffee forward theme. Cocoa and hints of vanilla, butter and toffee finish off a well balanced offering. Thick body and a dry finish.

Bottle at home. Pours black with beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, earthy and roasted malts, slightly acidic and chocolate-like coffee notes. Taste is dark chocolate, roasted malts and coffee, nicely balanced and well rounded, but the flavours are not as strong as I expected them to be and the body feels rather thin too. Closes with long lasting coffee finish and has a soft carbonation, drinks below the ABV. Tasty, but a bit disappointing: rather on dimensional and way too thin, expected much more.

12 oz bottle. Bottled 9-23-20. Black pour with a small beige head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is big and bold with layered coffee and espresso. The taste mirrors the aroma--coffee, coffee, coffee. Medium bitterness. The palate is full and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long with lingering bitter coffee. Overall: decent--a coffee lovers quaff.

Bottle from Hopt. Aroma is roasted malt, oats, intense coffee, mocha, coffee beans, cocoa, dark chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate to medium roasty bitter finish. Body is medium to full. Rich coffee and great drinkability, so much coffee and mocha, a treasure for lovers of coffee stout. Delicious.
