Sample at the Far Out! Space Tasting #2 on 10/01/2015. Clear yellow-gold color with a minimal head and sparse legs on the glass. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla and citrus. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, oaky vanilla and citrus. The finish is boozy with a bourbon and vanilla aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you umich03jm! Pours very tiny cloudy golden leaving some beautiful legs on the glass. Smell is intense with high quality honey, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, pollen, bees wax, toasted coconuts, caramelized pecans, hay, minerals, bourbon alcohol and hints of white raisins and lemon peal. Taste is sweet, very tiny sour and floral. Mouthfeel is round, oily, sticky sweet, tiny tannic astringent, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and very tiny sour with high quality honey, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, caramelized pecans, bees wax and bourbon alcohol. Amazingly rich and complex mead! Vulgar yet incredibly intriguingly complex and rewarding. World class mead! --- Beer merged from original tick of B. Nektar Episode 13 on 19 Jun 2015 at 22:55 - Score: 9. Original review text: Rich, complex and rewarding on the edge of being decadent. Extremely tasty!

Hazy dark yellow some dense and thick alcohol legs. Aroma is straight up dominated by booze. Coconut and Vanilla are present with a faint orange sweetness. This is an incredibly boozy mead. Alcohol burn on the tongue, throat and takes about 30 seconds to fade. Dense and oily. All of the whiskey tastes you’d expect with some berries. I love the mounds bar sort of taste you get from this. but 2 ounces is enough

500 ml bottle shared byAdamjackson during Brian Grand Mead tasting. Crystal clear gold color, aroma is rich and hearty. Thick honey with a great amount of bourbon, oak and hints of vanilla.
Flavor is just as nice as the aroma. Rich full honey through the center with a rich oak, bourbon, and bourbon vanilla. Thicker fuller in body, a much better feel than most meads I’ve experienced. The alcohol does give a nice mild warming after the sip. Damn nice!

Amazing. Honey sweetness with oak/bourbon/vanilla/light coconut with apple/pear fruits. Some alcohol spiciness. Really great balance. --- Beer merged from original tick of B. Nektar Episode 13 on 30 May 2015 at 19:24 - Score: 10. Original review text:

Honey, musty pear, walnut, twigs, and soil nose. Nice dank complexity! Clear golden, legs. Honey flavor with a subtle nondescript nuttiness, perhaps walnuts still. Full body, warm but not bad for 17.5%, just a few rough edges. Rustic and old tasting, a bit on the sweet side. Good chilled, great warm.
