33cl bouteille de Ermitage. BB 26/11/2018.

Bottle shared at l’Ermitage. Hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, mango, guava, passionfruit, oats, aggressive grassy and weedy hops. Some oniony and garliccy sharpness. Moderate sweet and quite bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Pretty dry too. --- Beer merged from original tick of L'Ermitage Suske In The Sky on 28 Aug 2018 at 09:49 - Score: 7

Bottle shared at the brewery. Hazy dark orange with bubbly off white head. Guava, strong dank hops and bitter grassy herbs, light caramel and toffee malts, light alcohol, orange, quite some bitter herbal notes and hop pollen stuff. Medium sweet and quite bitter. Over medium bodied with fizzy carbonation.

Strong IPA by Ermitage hopped with Galaxy and Comet, tasted from tap at Dok Brewing Company. Irregularly shaped, moussy, off-white, bit loose and large-bubbled, opening head over something that looks like raw homemade pear juice: a murky, sand-coloured, ochre liquid - guess I got the bottom of the keg... Aroma of a lot of freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice, mandarin, yellow kiwi, wet old bread, old crumbling biscuit, gin, overripe papaja, onions, minerals, milk gone sour, cheese rind, mud. Juicy onset with starfruit-, kiwi- and pink grapefruit-like impressions, hoppy from the start, sourish with sharpy stinging (over)carbonation, full mouthfeel; bready, soggy sandwhich- and crust-like maltiness, drenched in spicy, resinous, grapefruity, oniony hoppiness and eventually gin-like, peppery alcohol; ends powdery-yeasty with the hop bitterness fading a bit in the very end, making it less powerful than it probably should have been. Feels (and definitely looks!) flawed in more than one respect, well-intended but sleazily executed, Ermitage has done much better than this.

23 July 2018. L'Ermitage Tap Takeover at Dok Brewing, Ghent. Cheers to Anke!
Pours cloudy ochre with a thin, off-white head; no lacing; pure fruit juice. Fresh & intense aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, blood orange, papaya, passionfruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel. Light fruity sweet onset, notes of tropical fruit & orange, but quickly a medium hoppy bitterness takes over, with hints of grapefruit & grass; basic fruity & lemony sourness in the back. Dry, bitter, 'fruity hoppy' finish, bit earthy & resinous even, faint dash of alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Don't be fooled by the sweet & fruity aroma, this juicy IPA will give you a thorough blow of hop bitterness!

Keg at the brewery. It pours crazy cloudy murky blonde with small white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tangy ripe stone fruits, peachy, papaya, lilt, ripe banana and green vibes. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, green, weedy, pine dust, earthy tannin, grapefruit, chalky, flowery bread, spring onions and alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit brash and punchy.
