3 Fonteinen Schaarbeekse Kriek is the result of macerating local hand-picked Schaarbeekse cherries on young traditional lambic for at least one year, in a proportion of one kilo of sour cherries per liter of lambic. The cherry lambic is then blended with young lambic and bottles, after which our famous Schaarbeekse Kriek matures for another year at least in the bottle. Refined and with evolution in the glass. Natural fruit, no juice, syrup or sugars added. Unfiltered and unpasteurised.

Pours a medium dark, slightly unclear redamber. Small white head with a pink hue to it. Scent is full, intense on the cherry pits. lambic funk underneath (typical modern 3F style) and a woody undertone . Taste is tart, dry, medium funk level. Obviously cherry forward, even though the bottle has a few years on it - but to anyone knowing this beer, that won't be a big surprise. More dry- sour , and a bit more simplistic in it's a acidity than the better vintages. The cherry is ofcourse always a given greatness. A good beer, but there's better vintages of it out there. lacks a bit of complexity in the background.

(Bottle) Red colour with frothy, pinkish white head. Fruity nose with notes of cherries, red fruit, almonds, red wine, oak wood and a touch of cinnamon. Fruity, tart taste with cherries, raspberries, almonds, red wine, oak wood, barnyard and a vinous finish with a good acidity. Almost full body, mainly dry, but with a slight sweetness. The alcohol level seems to overshadow some of the acidity. Still, really rich and tasty. Great beer!
Malm October tasting (14/10/2023) - tart cherry fruity aroma and taste , cherry stone, medium body and high acidity max cherry fruity lingering close.

2014 vintage bottle shared at the source. Ruby pour with a thin, off white head. It’s got a lot of leather character going on, tannins, cherry pits, a hint of grapes even. Layered and complex, could use more intensity, but pretty nice nevertheless.

2005 vintage.
Dark ruby red, with a small white head. THis is easily the cloduiest, and darkest fruit lambic i have ever seen. Aroma is LOADED with lambic goodness. Lots of wet hay, brett, and cherries. Flavour is SOUR, lined with bushels of cherries, and lambic funk with a touch of oak for good measure. The finish is very sour again, but once the sourness is gone, there is a lovely cherry aftertaste. Wow, incredible lambic!

0.75l bottle, huge thanks Jonas for sharing with the rest of us! Clear lighly pinkish red body, almost no head. Lovely sour cherry soft aroma, just mild wild touches. Lean, dry taste, quite a good sour kick but a very big cherry profile as well, pretty juicy, well balanced, delectable really. Huge taste-wise, really glad I had it!

Bottle from a early plague internet box. Clear red golden, fine fizz. Almond, cherry, dry, pleasant barn, mineral, light wood, fantastic balance, fresh berry, fun fizz, very very nice.
Dry, earthy and funky with some intense tart dark cherry notes, some sourness and hints of spices. Quite complex and surprisingly dry.

5oz pour at Stillwell. Pours murky red with small white head. Tons of cherries, barnyard must, and leather on the nose. Flavour has barnyard funk, a touch of manure, tart cherries; a bit of woody dryness on the finish. A bit more dialed back in the funk than I was expecting, but still a fantastic, complex beer.
