Bottle at home. Might be a bit old. Murky brown, not much head. Aroma is caramel, bit boozy. Taste is sweet, bit of spice. Quite slick. Maybe a bit old. Feels boozier than it is. Pretty much flat and lifeless but not so bad. Tastes ok but not particularly appealing.

0.33l bottle @ Kulminator. It has a deep red color this, amber red with a smallish off-white head. It smells a bit vinous and light sweet. Red berries for sure. It's about average on the carbonation and it has a mild oily texture in the mouth. Flavors are sweet, much of those red berries found in the aroma and some sweetish caramel in the finish. Really tasty, and a lovely experience sitting in the backyard sipping! 02.06.2012

*Old rating. Best before 30.09.2011. Nice but sweetish brew. Herbs, earth and sweetish malt. Hints of grain with nice herbal-woody undertones. Interesting stuff.

bottle from a trade with bierkoning a few years back. Brown colour, beige head. Smooth start with dark malts, dried fruit and a vinous character, perhaps a touch of port wine. Good stuff.

Collab between Struise and Molen, vintage bottle at Kulminator, shared with Tim Webb, Craftmember and other beer enthusiasts. Initially thick and creamy, light beige coloured head, thinning and eventually all but disappearing; cloudy robe with very dark burgundy colour. Aroma of cocoa, caramel, hazelnut, milk chocolate, cloves, old madera, dried banana, beef stock, bayleaf, damp earth and autumn leaves. Soft sweet onset of candied date, dried apricot and banana, sourish balsamic vinegar touch, old sherry oxidation but fitting in quite well, soft carbo, supple and fluffy mouthfeel of caramelly, lightly nutty malt sweetness topped by a fairly strong chocolate quality; mildly spicy hops in the finish but no ’deep’ bitterness, a bit herbal, with the sherryish oxidation coming back retronasally; chocolatey sweetness lingers. Probably a bit too old already and opinions were consequently divided, but I liked it; reminded me a bit of Ayinger Celebrator or Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel. I do suspect the nostalgia of being in the Kulminator again after many a year may have helped in appreciating this, though...

Bottle, 32 months past BB date - Dead pour, no head or carbonation. Has a really rich, malty vinous aroma. Flavour has chocolately notes, dark fruity malts with prunes and figs. Texture is oily and thick.

Bottle @ Demervallei, Aarschot. Brown colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Notes of caramel and dark fruit. Rather sweet with light bitter finish. Ok beer.

Bottle @ pikkulintu. Bb 09/2011. Dark brown, almost no head. Bready, slight vinegary notes, sweet dark fruity notes. Flavor has plums, bread, sweetness. Clearly not in best shape anymore.
