Sampled between Ratebeer and Brewver, so not much specific notes were taken. This beer was a bit of a mess. Boozy, without the body or complexity to support it. Sweet, grainy… Not my thing at all. --- Beer merged from original tick of Trip3l on 26 Apr 2018 at 22:11 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Pre-release at beerlovers bar. Pours light amber, clear, but a bit dark for a tripel. Smell is intense, mild booze, malty ( pale malts , bready ) honey. Taste is sharp, grainy, bit boozy ( tad too much ) sticky, esthery, mild phenols, honey, mild sugary undertone. Not bad, but not my style to begin with, so an amped up version isn't gonna hold my pants up...

Bottle provided by Erwin the Great - many thanks! Pours clear amber with a quickly thinning, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of tequila (perhaps even with salt), rum-soaked raisins, caramel syrup, wet tobacco, alcohol, green apple. Taste consists of alcohol, sweet caramel, banana, raisin, ripe pear with a phenolic effect, herbal & tobacco-like bitterness. Boozy finish, more cloying caramel & candied fruit, with wry rum & tequila alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Pretty bad stuff.

Small yellowish head with lacerings over hazy orange-amber beer. Alcoholic, boozy nose, marzipan, frangipane, sweet. More marzipan, but with better balanced bitterishness; fusels and alcohol, sweet-viscous. Very full-bodied, alcoholheat. Unbalanced, too lopsided for its own good, really sweet-syrupy. 5/4/7/3/13

Thank you for sharing RB People! Sampled @ ZBF 2018. Lol at this stuff costing 2 tokens. Clear amber orange, small white head. Nose is grainy malt, cough syrup, herbals & way too sweet. Plain sweet cloying BE herbal, dull grain, band-aid & slab of sugar, bland boozy sugar. Good for people who love tripels I suppose but another one these beers.
