Bottle sampled at Free Beer. Clear mahogany with tan head. Massive smoke, bacon, sweet malts, plums, soft caramel. Medium sweet, less bitter. Crisp, medium bodied.

Bottle. Pours clear amber, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is light hardwood smoke, caramel malt. Flavor is light smoke, light plus sweet, light bitter. Medium body.

Med body, med carbo. Med sweet, med bitter, very good intricate balance. Med caramelly, toasted bready, light fruity, and shitloafs of smoked ham. Honestly overall similar to Schlenk Marzen, very nicely balanced, rich, flavourful. Easy drinking too. Great

On tap at Spezial, pours a clear dark amber with a medium beige head. Nose is full of beautiful campfire smoke, bready caramel malt, and a touch of brown sugar. Flavour is full-on campfire smoke and bready caramel malt, with a much fuller body than the smoked lager. Clean, assertive, and satisfying. Excellent.

Draught. A great great rauchbier. Not as smoky as some of Schlenkerla stuff and it works well. Pours dark reddish brown w/beige head. Very smooth taste, w/sweet and bitter. Great stuff.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Nicely smoked aroma with smoked malt, bacon, campfire, caramel. Long smokey ashy finish. Moderate sweet, light bitter, medium body. Beautiful, goes well with BBQ.

Bottle. Red chestnut color, with small head. Aroma is smoked ham, bready. Taste is sweet, roasted malts, smoke. Low carbonation, lighter body than Schlenkerla, but very fulfilling, very enjoyable at every sip.
