Aus der Flasche im 2013-01 getrunken. Süffiges Dubbel, wirkt aber etwas verwässert! Weiß zu Gefallen, aber es gibt wirkliche bessere!

Bottle. A- Caramel, balsamic vinegar, slightly sour. A- Dark garnet red color, clear liquid, tan head. T- Metallic, watery, cardboard, caramel, bready. P- Medium body, thin texture, flat carbonation, unbalanced. O- The appearance and aroma was spot on. Really lovely. At first I thought it was a sour red/brown. The flavor however didn't even remotely match the aroma. The taste was like sucking on a paper clip. Wanted a lot more from this.

Clear brown beer, off white head. Bready malt aroma. Taste is caramel, malt, dried fruit, apple, a hint of toastiness. This lingers into the aftertaste but there's a surprising lack of oomph given the strength of it.

20.05.2018/02.06.2018 -- 0.33l bottle from hieber's in lörrach, 1.69€, pours an almost clear dark amber with a frothy yellowish head. aroma of dates, apples, rye bread. flavour of kvass, black tea, citrus, leather. quite light body for the style, as if it were watered down. would have been very good otherwise.

Another acquisition at a Total Wine from a family Thanksgiving journey in the Fort Worth area. A note on the label says best before 03-2018, well okay. The usual European 11.2 oz bottle, I pour into a Buffalo Bayou tulip glass. The advertised and expected brown liquid, rather dark, finished by a vigorous, maize colored head, A smell now, yellow fruit, yeast, grain and bread. And then a drink, yeast, a maltiness, toffee, biscuit. Pretty decent for a dubbel and I am much a fan of those.

Clear deep brown color with a fine tan head. Ok lacing. Fine mellow aroma. Medium + body and an average carbonation level. Balanced sweetness. Oily texture. Bready, fruity and toffee in the flavor. Round ok beer. Yet a bit “mild”.
