Thanks Alex to share this beer with you. A great and enjoyable bock from the Alto Adige. First beer on monday from Singen to Stuttgart, light and smooth, sweet, chocolate, cocoa, malty, discreet bitterness at the final, a love story, 01.03.2023

330mL bottle, pours a clear dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of toasted nuts, some toffee, and bready malts. Flavour has a dry, nutty and bready malt character, with dry toffee, toasted nuts, and bready malt. Not super deep or complex but clean and reasonably constructed. Decent.

Tap 0,40ltr at Bar Al Carcan, Venice, Italy: Dark ruby coloured brew thats revealled its Austrian/German ancestry. Very sweet malty taste but that not bad in this case.

12oz bottle from Brewers Haven. Clear, dark amber pour, thin, creamy beige head. Sweet, malty aroma, brown sugar. Taste continues with big malt sweetness, nutty, molasses and light toasty notes. Smooth and tasty. Deserves better scores.

Bottle from Spar in Trento. Not sure this is really a Doppel at just 6.5%. Dark reddish brown with a huge head. Nutty, caramel nose with cocoa and some dried prunes. And fresh prunes. Rich, fruity flavor, prunes and raisins, caramel, touch of coffee. Very tasty, and rather light and crisp for the style, with a moderation bitter finish. Better than expected.

Pour is a dark amber red with a large tan head. Aroma is molasses and sugar covered plumbs. Flavor is sweet tootsie roll molasses malts with some dark fruit. A minor complaint is that the mouthfeel is a bit thin but otherwise this is a fine Doppel from France.
