This naturally cloudy amber Hefeweizen has a firm, creamy head and reveals fragrances of peach, apricot and citrus on the nose. The initial impression on the palate is of a bouquet of aromas, including subtle touches of banana plus refreshing grapefruit from the American Chinook hops. The fruity peach and apricot notes from the Amarillo hops are balanced by the gentle sweetness of the caramel malt. The beer has a delicate tartness that melds into a harmonious mouthfeel on the finish.

The Aromas are of a good traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen, clove, banana, pale malt with a little caramel, yeast and hints of minerals and cinnamon. Flavors are like nose, nice balance between Bitter Sweet and tart. A little bread in there too. Very good body carbonation with a slight mineral, metallic finish. Nice well-made beer though I wouldn't say anything innovative.

Bottle. Blonde, cloudy. Banan in the slightly herbal aroma and flavor. Totally dry. Wheaty. Grassy hops. Well made.

RB backlog. Honeydew, new spice, wheat, orange zest, greenish banana. Medium sweetness, a bit tart, nice light hop bitterness with yeasts to round it out. Nice creamy but not too thick mouth feel and classic Weihenstephan carbonation.

Rated last year sometime - Pours hazy orange and has a yeasty aroma with clove and other spices. The flavor is similar along with wheat and mild to moderately bitter hops. It's good though I still like Weihenstephaner's regular hefeweizen more.

0.5l bottle. Cloudy golden with a big dense white head, great retention. Aroma of intense banana, clove, wheat. Taste follows suit with intense fruity banana notes, citrus, wheat, clove, spices. Medium body, soft carbonation. Expected more from the new world hops, but it's a solid hefe.

0,5 l bottle. Pours hazy orange golden with big, lasting, frothy off white head. Aroma of banana, clove, some grainy wheat, a hint of caramel and plenty of fruit notes, orange and stone fruit. Body is medium, mouthfeel slick and carbonation lively. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a touch of sourness. Finish is quite long, somewhat unpleasant light bitterness hangs on the tongue for a while. A different take on hefe weissbier, not bad at all, just different.

33 cL bottle. Pours a hazy, orange color, with a small, fizzy, beige head. The aroma is banana, hay, cloves, grapefruit, and caramel. Sweet and estery, with a mild bitterness. Medium body, with a chewy, sharp, and lightly acidic mouthfeel. This is a fairly aggressive, and a bit hoppy hefeweizen.

Bottle at Water & Brood. Unclear golden with white head. Sweet malts, fruity, citrus, cool banana milk with cloves, nice crispy yeast. Quite sweet and moderate bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Bit mixed Belgian/German vibes. --- Beer merged from original tick of Weihenstephaner Braupakt* on 03 Dec 2018 at 11:43 - Score: 7
