A massive dose of Citra hops launch our legendary double IPA (Minnesota’s first, and a nod to our abrasives factory origin) into the hophead stratosphere.

Rcvd in trade. Two cans.
This was poured into a pint glass and a snifter. There was barely any difference between the two glasses.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy orange to brown color with a decent one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Once the head died down, the lacing wove around the glass in a nice speckled sort of fashion.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet citrus to sweet sharp freshly cut pine and it came through in a strong aromatic way allowing a decent sweet maltiness to come out as it warmed.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and added a nice sweet maltiness coating my taste buds.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there. The normal harshness of an AIPA was there assaulting my tongue very good.
Overall, what a great beer all around. Well worthy of having again.

16 fl oz (475 ml) can at home. Golden almost unclear color with nice white head. Heavy hoppy aroma, some citrus, pineapple, floral notes resin and pine, light malty too. Taste is malty sweet but it quickly becomes bitter and citrusy hoppy. Medium body with oily feel and soft carbonation. Long bitter hoppy finish.

Can. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is pine and citrus. Medium mouthfeel with strong pine and fruit hop. Easy to drink. Very good.

Can (canned 1/13/14) poured into a Belgian tulip. Pours a nice golden orange color with a finger of off-white head. Tiny bits of sediment floating throughout. Aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, light floral notes, pine. Tasting notes of big tropical fruit, grapefruit citrus, pine/resin, stone fruit, light floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel. Definitely one of the best DIPAs out there.

Enjoyed on tap at Reggie’s in Chicago, IL. I think this is a brew that lives up to its name. Appearance is a slightly cloudy gold with a rich white head. Aroma is pure citrus hops, definitely an aggressively hopped brew, smell is pretty good. Taste is pretty bitter but also pretty enjoyable, rich in citrus and grapefruit hop notes, finish is slightly dry. Overall, very nice DIPA and would gladly have this again.

A golden DIPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, beautiful floral hops, intense piney and citrusy character, over biscuit malt. In mouth, a nice citrusy biscuit malt with loads of pink grapefruit pulp, floral and resinous hops, very nice and complex, a good example of the style. On tap at End of Everything beer fest Dec 22 2013.
