In collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops we have re-brewed this very popular beer that celebrates the US season hops. Originally brewed in May 2017, we worked closely with YCH to design a beer that highlights the best of the season. A hoppy hello to the new season, Cy18. Same recipe, new year with a huge hop cannon to the face.

This super fruity IPA showcases four varieties of hops. The base of the beer contains a little aromatic malt and some wheat malt to add a smooth mouthfeel with a balanced malt body. The beer then features T90 Cascade, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra in whirlpool with a big dose of Simcoe, Mosaic & Citra lupulin powder in dry hop.

Can from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy golden colour with a short-lived frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, weedy, dank citrus fruit hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a crisp, fresh, juicy tropical citrus, light pepper spice, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Can from Cotteridge Wines and drunk on a picnic blanket. Turbid deep orange colour lasting white head. A little on the dank and milkshake side. Very fresh hoppy dipa aroma and flavour. Good bitterness on the finish. Good citrus and pineapple fruits. I just prefer something cleaner. Light flour in mouth. Decent hop juice.

Grower Owned, how bittersweet for this brewery. There's an aroma of melon, lupulin, oranges, grass, peach and loads of fresh pine needles filling the room. Starts mildly sweet and carries on with tangy tartness into a dry finish. Hops shine beautifully.

Can from Honest Brew, Crystal Palace and shared at home - medium hazed golden orange coloured pour with a white head. Pleasing medley of tropical citrus fruits, some tangerine and grapefruit, papaya, medium body, nice spicy bitter bite into the hoppy finish.

Keg at Tap East, Stratford, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, tropical fruit on the nose. Tastes hoppy, citrus, orange, tropical fruit, some pine. An excellent IPA and probably the best I've had from Magic Rock.

I Draught /I Good dense, yellowish head over fully hazy orange-ochre beer. Served a tad too cold. Very fresh hoppy-citrus nose, fresh lupulin, very faint meaty esters suggested, bit of pine. Light piney/resiny and of course quite citrussy character. New World hops in force. Some faint other grains underbuild. Pretty lively carbonated, its looks notwithstanding. Sharpish feel, dominating the hopoiliness. Bit of hopburn, I'd say. Quite decent.

Canned, 500 ml, courtesy of Max. Shared with him and JFK10000. Great aroma, dank and grassy, some grapefruit, bit juicy, bitterish finish. Dry. Bit thin. Smooth texture. Medium bodied.
